Christopher was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. He is happily married with two children. Christopher graduated magna cum laude from Belmont University with a bachelor’s degree in political science as well as a Juris Doctor from Belmont College of Law.
Christopher has risen in the ranks at Ponce Law to head the Social Security/Disability division. Under his management, the department has grown, and we are able to help more clients get benefits. Christopher is registered with the Social Security Administration.
When Chris was asked what is the most common legal question he is asked, he responded, “Should I apply for benefits without an attorney?” Chris’s response: “The Social Security Administration routinely misapplies its own rules. In my experience, having an attorney can help to avoid these in the long run.” When asked what is the best legal advice that he can give, Chris responded, “Be honest. I can frequently deal with bad facts, but I can’t deal with untruthfulness.”
Chris recently had a client who had her Social Security benefits terminated after her cancer went into remission, despite the fact that the chemotherapy had left her with lots of fatigue and memory issues. He fought for her and made sure her benefits were reinstated. Chris genuinely cares about helping people. He has worked with several clients over the past year who were denied disability on multiple occasions, but he was able to get them approved by showing the judge what Social Security had been missing all along.
