CROSSVILLE, TN – One man was killed and two women were injured in an accident in Crossville Thursday night. The Crossville Chronicle reported the crash happened at about 9:15 p.m. at a bridge on State Highway 68.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Robert Jenkins of Crossville was driving a Buick LL3 at the bridge over Daddy’s Creek when it crossed over a center line.  48-year-old Vanessa Tays of Crossville, who was driving a Kia Sorento, swerved to avoid the vehicle.  Her SUV then struck a guardrail and was hit by the Buick.

The Buick went off the road and Jenkins was ejected from the vehicle, investigators said.  He was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene.

Tays and a passenger, 78-year-old Dorothy Trance, were both transported to a trauma center.

Authorities closed the road to allow a medical helicopter to land near the crash scene.
