Crash alert: 2 dead, 3 injured in south Nashville collision

NASHVILLE, TN – A head-on collision between two vehicles in south Nashville left two people dead early Sunday morning, according to News Channel 5.

The accident happened at about 1 a.m. in the vicinity of Bell Road and Brookview Estates Drive.

Investigators believe a speeding pickup truck crossed over from the eastbound lanes on Bell Road and went into the path of a sedan going in the opposite direction, killing two people inside the car.

The victims were identified as 21-year-old Dalton Williams and 25-year-old Samantha Peevyhouse.  Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people in the pickup were injured, two critically, and were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

An investigation into the fatal accident is ongoing.
