NASHVILLE, TN – Two people were killed and three others were injured in a multi-vehicle crash in south Nashville Friday night, according to Fox 17 Nashville.
A total of nine vehicles were involved in the wreck, which occurred in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 near Antioch Pike just before 8 p.m.
Investigators said the driver of an Infiniti Q-50 was trying to avoid a Mazda re-entering traffic on the highway when the Infiniti struck an Acura. A semi-truck then hit the Infiniti, which crashed into a concrete wall and went up in flames. The Infiniti’s two occupants died at the scene; their identities have not been released. Three other people were hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The 17-year-old driver of the Mazda is facing charges for driving without a license and not having insurance, and could face additional charges.
All eastbound lanes and a westbound lane of I-24 were closed in the area while the scene was being cleared.
