PUTNAM COUNTY, TN – Authorities have released details of an accident involving two cars and two tractor-trailers on Interstate 40 in Putnam County last Friday.
According to 1057 News, two people were injured in the crash at the 295 mile marker of I-40. It began when the driver of a Kenworth tractor-trailer changed lanes and hit the back of a Nissan Murano.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said that collision then impacted a Freightliner tractor-trailer and a Toyota Camry. The driver of the Nissan Murano, 43-year-old Robert Thorbjornsen, and a passenger, 38-year-old Rachel Thorbjornsen, were both injured in the accident. Details were not released on the severity of their injuries.
The driver of the Kenworth truck, 55-year-old James Braun of Avon, Indiana, faces a number of charges including failure to exercise due care, violation of the registration law, and violation of financial responsibility law.
