Crash alert: Collision on Highway 127 leaves 2 injured

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN – Two people were injured in a collision in Cumberland County Tuesday morning. 1057 News reports the Tennessee Highway Patrol was at the scene of the accident in the area of Highway 127 North at Bowman Bend.

State troopers said 31-year-old Kozzi Cole of Crossville was driving a Kia when it crossed over the highway and was struck by a Saab.

The Saab driver, 22-year-old Lydia Bontrager of Monterey, and a passenger in the Kia, 22-year-old Kayla Harper of Crossville, were both hurt in the crash. Details on the extent of their injuries were not released. There were two other passengers in Cole’s vehicle but they were not injured.

Cole was issued a citation for failure to yield.
