Crash alert: 7 hurt when minivan overturns on I-40

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN – Seven people were injured, including four children, when their minivan crashed on a Cumberland County highway early Thursday morning, 1057 News reports.

The accident happened shortly before 3 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 40 at the 320 mile marker. Authorities say 48-year-old Dorothy J. Clark was driving a Toyota Sienna when she lost control of the vehicle. The minivan entered a ditch and embankment before overturning. A 67-year-old passenger in the vehicle was hospitalized in critical condition. Also injured were Clark and another woman, along with the four children, ages 7, 6, 5, and 2.

Clark, a resident of Clinton, Tennessee, was charged with violation of the child restraint law as well as possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
