Crash alert: 96-year-old driver killed in accident on Gallatin Pike

NASHVILLE, TN – Police say an accident in Nashville last week claimed the life of a 96-year-old driver, Fox 17 Nashville reports.

The victim was identified as Travis Lawrence of Madison. The incident happened as he was pulling out of a parking lot in the area of Gallatin Pike and Maplewood Place at about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Metro Nashville police said Lawrence pulled his Chevrolet Impala into the path of an Audi Q5 and was hit on the driver’s side. The Impala then spun and hit another vehicle, a Nissan Altima.

Lawrence was pronounced dead at an area hospital. No one else was seriously injured.

Police said there were no signs of alcohol or drug use in the incident.
