CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN – Authorities say a car accident on a Cumberland County highway Monday left one person dead and another injured, according to 1057 News.
The crash happened on Interstate 40 at the 314 mile marker. State troopers said 34-year-old Jamie Smith was driving a Cadillac CTS when the vehicle merged into the left lane and struck a Honda Pilot, causing the Honda to hit a bridge.
The driver of the Honda, 61-year-old Deborah Bryant of Cunningham, Tennessee, was killed in the crash. A passenger in the car, 63-year-old Jeffery Bryant, was injured. Smith, of Waldo, Arkansas, was not injured. Troopers said charges are pending against Smith.
