NASHVILLE, TN – The driver involved in an accident in Antioch last weekend is now facing upgraded charges, according to WKRN.
This is an update to a previous story.
Authorities say 31-year-old Francisco Nuffio was speeding on Bell Road Sunday at about 10 p.m. when he turned into the path of another car and caused a collision. The other driver, 24-year-old Eduar Anthony Canales Landaverde, was taken to the hospital and died Monday afternoon.
Nuffio was arrested and initially charged with vehicular assault. Following Landaverde’s death, the charge was upgraded to vehicular homicide. Bond for him was set at $150,000.
Witnesses said Nuffio was driving with no lights on prior to the accident.
