CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation is advising drivers of a road closure in Cumberland County due to a widening project.

The widening is being done on Peavine Road, which is closed from Fairview Blvd to just past the Catoosa / Westchester intersection. Detours are posted. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving through the area.

The project includes base stone, paving, blasting operations, storm drain installation, and utility relocation. The posted speed limit in the work zone has been reduced from 45 MPH to 35 MPH. TDOT said temporary lane closures and/or traffic stoppages may also be needed as the work continues.

The estimated completion date for the project is November.
