by Ponce Law | August 4th, 2020

NASHVILLE, TN – Police and emergency crews were responding to three separate crashes on Interstate 24 Saturday with dozens of vehicles involved, WKRN reported.

The chain reaction accidents happened on I-24 west near Harding Place in the vicinity of mile markers 55 and 56, according to Tennessee 511.  The first incident was reported at 2:30 p.m., with 12 vehicles involved. Police said some of the drivers were experiencing problems due to the wet roadways. One person was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The second incident, reported shortly before 4:30 p.m., happened at the Harding Place exit and involved 15 vehicles. No injuries were reported.

A short time later, a wreck between four vehicles left one person critically injured and two others seriously hurt.   It caused I-24 west to be partially closed for almost an hour.   The three crashes were all cleared by 6 p.m.
