by Ponce Law | November 17th, 2020

NASHVILLE, TN – A multi-vehicle accident in Nashville Monday morning left one person dead and several others injured.

According to News Channel 5, the crash occurred on Murfreesboro Pike near Mt. View Road shortly before 7 a.m. Investigators determined that 25-year-old Chevalier Walden lost control of his Nissan Altima while in a curve.  Walden drove into traffic, hitting two other cars before his vehicle was struck by a pickup truck.

Walden was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.  He was not wearing a seat belt, authorities said.  People in the other three vehicles were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Metro police said speed was the main contributing factor in the wreck, adding there were no indications of drug or alcohol use by any of the drivers.
