Crash alert: Driver facing charges after crashing into building in Greenbrier

GREENBRIER, TN – A woman was taken into custody after crashing her car into a building in Greenbrier on Monday, the Smokey Barn News reports.

Police said the driver lost control of her vehicle while heading north on Highway 41, went across the southbound lanes, and then slammed into a business at about 5 p.m. The woman, estimated to be in her 40s, was transported to a hospital after initially declining treatment.  According to police, a 2-year-old girl in the vehicle was not properly restrained at the time of the accident but was not injured.

The driver, whose name was not released, is facing several charges, including DUI and child endangerment.

The child was checked out by medics and turned over to a family member.
