NASHVILLE, TN – Police in Nashville are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash, Fox 17 Nashville reports.
The victim was identified as 38-year-old Marques Campbell of Nashville. According to Metro Police, Campbell was attempting to walk across Dickerson Pike when he was struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning at about 3:40 a.m. He was not in a crosswalk when the incident occurred, police said. Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene.
A search is now underway for the driver and vehicle that were responsible for the fatal accident. Investigators described the vehicle involved as a 2012 dark gray metallic Chevrolet Cruz that was believed to have sustained damage on the front passenger side. Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact Nashville Police.
