NASHVILLE, TN – Police are investigating a car crash that killed a 42-year-old woman in Nashville early Sunday morning.
According to WSMV, the victim was identified as Rachel Kaplan of Pinellas Park, Florida. Metro Nashville police said she was driving a Dodge Challenger on East Thompson Lane at a high rate of speed at about 12:30 a.m. when the accident occurred. Investigators determined that Kaplan lost control of the car as she was crossing a bridge over Mill Creek near Wimpole Drive. The vehicle slammed into a concrete wall on the bridge and Kaplan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said she was not wearing a seat belt at the time, and there were no immediate signs that drug or alcohol contributed to the deadly crash.
