Crash alert: Guardrail goes through woman’s car on I-40

CROSSVILLE, TN – A woman was hospitalized after her car crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 40 Monday, 1057 News reported.

48-year-old Shanna Lowery was driving a Nissan Altima on I-40 east when she lost control and struck the guardrail at the 308 mile marker, state troopers said.

The rail ended up going through the front of the car.  The woman was trapped inside the vehicle but first responders managed to extricate her.  Lowery, of Crossville, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
