Crash alert: Man charged with leaving scene of Nashville accident

NASHVILLE, TN – Police have made an arrest in connection with a crash that killed a woman in Nashville late Monday night, WSMV reported.

This is an update to a previous story.

The suspect, 32-year-old Kenneth D. Patton, was driving  a Kia Optima that went off the road and hit a utility pole on Buchanan Street near the intersection of 16th Avenue North at 11:55 p.m., police said. The front-seat passenger, 48-year-old Alicia Pride, was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.

Patton allegedly fled the scene before police got there. He has now been arrested by Metro Police and faces multiple charges, including leaving the scene, failure to render aid, and failure to report the crash.
