Crash alert: Police identify woman killed in wrong-way crash on I-640

KNOXVILLE, TN – Police have identified a woman killed in a wrong-way accident last weekend in Knoxville.

According to WATE, the victim was 52-year-old Deborah Hinkin. The crash happened Saturday on Interstate 640 West near Buffat Mill Road.

Police said Hinkin entered I-640 driving east in the westbound lanes and hit a vehicle, which then hit another vehicle.

Hinkin, a Knoxville resident, was pronounced dead at an area hospital.  Investigators are trying to determine why she was driving in the wrong direction.
