SPRINGFIELD, TN – Authorities are trying to find a driver who fled on foot after a chase and crash in Robertson County early Friday morning.
According to the Smokey Barn News, the Tennessee Highway Patrol was pursuing a commercial vehicle on Highway 49 in Springfield at about 1:30 a.m. after the driver failed to pull over for a traffic stop. When the driver failed to negotiate a left turn onto Highway 76, the vehicle went through a guardrail and some pole support cables, and went down into a ravine.
The TSP said the driver fled the scene and was not located after troopers searched the area on Highway 49 for about an hour. No troopers were injured in the incident.
Investigators said the vehicle involved in the crash had Papa’s Mobile Repair printed on the side.
