Crash alert: Search on for driver who left scene after fatal accident

NASHVILLE, TN – Police say a driver left the scene after a crash that killed a female passenger in North Nashville, according to a report by WKRN.

It happened just before midnight Monday at Buchanan Street and 16th Avenue North, where police say the driver struck a utility pole after traveling at a high rate of speed.

Responding officers found the injured passenger. She was later pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Investigators determined that the driver ran away and left the female behind after the crash. Police are now searching for the driver and ask anyone with information to contact authorities.
