NASHVILLE, TN – According to WKRN, a search is underway for the driver responsible for a deadly hit-and-run accident in west Nashville.
Police were called to the area of Charlotte Avenue and Lellyett Street at about 9 p.m. Monday night, where a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
The victim, identified as 67-year-old David Haskins of Foundry Drive, was pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. It is not yet clear whether Haskins was walking on Charlotte Pike or trying to cross the roadway when he was hit.
Police say the driver involved left the scene. Evidence gathered by investigators indicated the vehicle may have been a white 2005-2010 Toyota Scion tC. Anyone with information on the incident was urged to contact Metro Nashville police.
