Crash alert: Suspect sought after woman fatally struck in Nashville parking lot

NASHVILLE, TN – Authorities are searching for the driver who ran over and killed a woman in Nashville early Monday morning.

WKRN reports the incident occurred at the Marathon Market on Jefferson Street at about 1:45 a.m. The woman was run over by a silver 2012-2014 model Hyundai Elantra as she was lying down in the store parking lot. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Ashley Rodgers, was pronounced dead at an area hospital.

Police said the driver went to a nearby restaurant after the crash and then fled the area before officers arrived. Investigators are trying to determine whether there was any connection between the driver and the victim, and whether Rodgers may have been intentionally struck.
