Crash alert: Vehicle fire closes lanes on I-40 west in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN – Traffic was slowed in Nashville Tuesday morning after a vehicle fire broke out on Interstate 40, according to WSMV.

First responders were dispatched to the scene when the vehicle’s cargo caught fire in the two left lanes of I-40 west between mile markers 211 and 212 near Hermitage Avenue shortly before 6:30 a.m.

Lanes were shut down on both sides of the highway as firefighters extinguished the blaze and the scene was cleared. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
