Crash alert: Vehicle goes off road in Springfield rollover crash

SPRINGFIELD, TN – A driver escaped without being seriously hurt after his vehicle was involved in a rollover accident in Springfield Saturday night, the Smokey Barn News reported.

The crash happened on Highway 41 near Worsham Springs Road and was reported at 11:44 p.m. Authorities said the driver, reportedly a man in his 30s, apparently ran off the road and hit a fire hydrant. The vehicle flipped and then caught fire. The driver was thrown from the car but was alert and talking afterwards, the Springfield Fire Department said.

No one else was injured in the incident. Springfield Police are investigating the cause of the wreck.
