SEVIERVILLE, TN – Authorities have released new details on a crash involving five vehicles on Interstate 40 in Sevierville Saturday, according to WBIR.

Police said 40-year-old Darryl Kerr of Georgia was driving a Jeep Wrangler at about 6:40 p.m. on I-40 west near the 407 exit when he crossed a median and went into the eastbound lanes, leading to the multi-vehicle wreck.
The driver of a Subaru Forrester was killed in the crash and was identified as 55-year-old Bettina Koelzer of Marian, Iowa. Two people from Missouri who were passengers in a Ford Explorer were injured.
Police are trying to determine the cause of the accident, which closed a portion of I-40 for more than five hours.
