BRENTWOOD, TN – According to a report in The Tennessean, the woman charged in a crash that killed a Brentwood police officer bonded out of jail Monday.

This is an update to a previous story.

Ashley Kroese, who is charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication, spent 15 days in the Williamson County Jail. Bond had been set at $750,000 in the case.

The accident happened in late June on Franklin Road. Authorities said Kroese was driving southbound in the northbound lane when her Jeep Liberty collided head-on with the patrol car driven by Officer Destin Legieza. Her blood alcohol level at the time was twice the legal limit, according to investigators.

If convicted of the charge against her, Kroese could face eight to 12 years behind bars.
