LEBANON, TN – A woman was killed in an accident involving a car and two tractor-trailers on Interstate 40 Thursday evening.
According to WSMV, the incident occurred on I-40 west near mile marker 246 just east of the Linwood exit in Lebanon. Police said 59-year-old Angela Scott was driving a Chevrolet Impala at about 5:30 p.m. when she hit a Freightliner tractor trailer and lost control of her car.
Scott drove off the eastbound lanes, across a median and into the westbound lanes, police said. Her vehicle was then hit by another Freightliner tractor-trailer. Scott was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the wreck. No one else was hurt.
Police say no charges have been filed. I-40 west was shut down after the accident and drivers were advised to take alternate routes.
