KNOXVILLE, TN – According to the Knoxville Police Department, two motorists were injured in a ‘serious crash’ on North Broadway near Chickamauga Avenue that caused all lanes to be temporarily closed last Thursday, reports WATE.
KPD initially tweeted about the incident at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, asking drivers to avoid the area.

On Friday, more details were released by KPD. Spokesperson Scott Erland said the collision occurred when a gray Infiniti sedan heading southbound on N Broadway at a high speed struck a car in the turn lane near the Chickamauga Avenue intersection.
The driver and passenger of one of the vehicles involved were transported to UT Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. At this time, no further information regarding their condition has been released.
