ROBERTSON CO., TN – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 431 in Robertson County last Thursday, reports the Smokey Barn News.
According to the preliminary crash report, the accident occurred around 10:38 a.m. on Thursday, December 10th. Tennessee Highway Patrol stated that 68-year-old William Gardner of Springfield was traveling northbound on Highway 431 in a 1998 Ford Explorer and attempted to turn into a driveway on the left side of the road. However, Gardner did not yield to an oncoming semi-truck, driven by 49-year-old Ricky Keel of of Cumberland Furnace. The truck then collided with the passenger side of Gardner’s vehicle.
Gardner’s Ford Explorer then struck a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic driven by 51-year-old Elizabeth Stark, which in turn hit a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 60-year-old George Witt.
Gardner was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witt and Stark sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. At this time, there is no other information about their condition.
