NASHVILLE, TN – A Memphis man was killed and another hospitalized following a high-speed crash on I-24 late Friday night.
According to KSMV, the accident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. along the interstate near the I-65 overpass.
Police say 22-year-old Laterrell Cline II was traveling at a high rate of speed when his 1994 Chevrolet Camero side-swiped a Hyundai Elentra.
Cline’s vehicle crossed all three lanes of the interstate and careened into an embankment before striking the overpass. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
One passenger in Cline’s vehicle was rushed to a local hospital to be treated for injuries deemed non-life-threatening. The driver in the Hyundai was injured but declined to be transported to the hospital.
