COOKEVILLE, TN – A woman and her two children were killed and a man arrested following a high-speed crash in Cookeville Tuesday morning.
According to WSMV, the collision took place around 7:40 a.m. at the intersection of Interstate Drive and South Willow Avenue.
Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol were pursuing the driver of a 2020 Toyota Tacoma when he collided with a 2012 Nissan Versa at a high rate of speed.
All three occupants in the Tacoma, 24-year-old Amanda Chatman and her children, ages 3 and 4, were killed as a result of the crash. Troopers arrested 25-year-old Michael Don Shepherd, the driver in the Tacoma. He was charged with three counts of vehicular homicide and evading arrest.
