by Ponce Law | February 22nd, 2021

GREENE COUNTY, TN – Tennessee State Troopers have identified the man killed in a collision involving a school bus last Thursday afternoon.

According to WJHL, the accident occurred at about 2:20 p.m. within the intersection of US 11E and Twin Barns Road.

Investigators say the school bus was attempting to turn left onto Twin Barns Road when the driver failed to yield the right of way and struck a Chevrolet Silverado. The force of the impact sent the Silverado into a Chevrolet Astro van driven by 58-year-old Donald Crum.

Crum was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver and an aid were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. Two children on the bus were also hospitalized as a precaution but are expected to be OK.

It is unclear if the driver in the Silverado was hurt in the crash.

Troopers say charges are pending against the bus driver at this time.
