The Nashville car accident attorneys at Ponce Law point out that faulty car parts could be to blame for a number of crashes involving Jeep Grand Cherokees. Reports indicate the Jeeps have rolled away after the vehicles were parked, causing a number of collisions and injuries.
According to Reuters, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has stated it will launch an investigation into the safety of the Jeep Grand Cherokee after receiving 14 reports of Jeeps rolling away. Those incidents resulted in five crashes that left three people with injuries.
The NHTSA said the vehicles are equipped with a new type of gear-changing system that could possibly be to blame for the problem. If this is the cause of the vehicles rolling away, it could result in more than 408,000 vehicles being recalled.
