Driver Runs Stop Sign, Strikes Victim’s Vehicle

Dyersburg Police are investigating the tragic collision that took the life of Gary Walker, who was driving south on Sylvan Road at the time of the accident. At that time, 44-year-old Jason Page of Tennessee was driving a Chevrolet west on Elmo Ozment Drive. According to police, Page reportedly ran the stop sign on Elmo Ozment Drive and struck Walker’s pickup truck, killing the 61-year-old. Isbell stated that the responding officer at the scene of the deadly accident was DPD K-9 Officer Lynn Waller, who was unaware of the fact that his father-in-law, Walker, was one of the people involved in the crash. Once other units arrived on the scene, Waller was able to leave and be with his family to deal with the tragic loss of their loved one. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to Officer Waller and his family during this difficult time,” said Isbell in the aftermath of the wreck.
