Victim of deadly pedestrian crash in Loudon County identified

LOUDON CO., TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the pedestrian who was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 75 in Loudon County on Monday night.

The preliminary crash report states that 42-year old Melissa Chaffins, a resident of Knoxville, TN, was standing in the roadway when she was hit by a car. There were no other injuries in this accident.

According to initial reports by WATE, the accident occurred near mile marker 74.8. Southbound traffic was temporarily diverted at Exit 76 before being reopened later Monday.
