Crash alert: Driver charged in collision that killed motorcyclist

NASHVILLE, TN – A driver is facing charges in connection with an accident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist in Nashville July 17, according to The Tennessean.

Police said 33-year-old Brandon Hayes was driving a Lincoln Town Car at about 12:20 a.m. and turning from Old Hickory Boulevard onto Myatt Drive when the collision occurred. The motorcycle struck Hayes’ vehicle on the passenger side. Witnesses told police the motorcycle driver had the green light at the time of the crash.

20-year-old Matthew Taylor was pronounced dead at Skyline Medical Center. Another person on the motorcycle, Trey Faulk, was critically injured.

According to the police report, Hayes admitted to drinking before the accident. He has been charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication.
