Cecily Galanopoulos

One of my favorite things about this teacher isn’t only her utmost dedication to her students, but also to her school. I recently learned that each day after school, she and her two young daughters go out and clean up the playground. There are always balls, toys, and clothing left outside at the end of the day. No one else is aware she is the one who does that each afternoon. She has also recently started a once a week “Cleaning” club in the afternoon in which students help teachers with cleaning chores and they also clean all the stairwells, etc. She said she wants the students to take pride in having the privilege of going to a great school and learn to help take care of it. I feel as though she does an excellent job teaching in the classroom, but not all teachers take the extra time each day to help improve the school outside the classroom. She is definitely top notch!!!!
