Mindy Dunham

My 4 year old son is in Mrs. Mindy's Pre-K class at Baxter Primary School. He is autistic and struggles with speech, social cues, daily routine tasks, with many special needs. Mrs. Mindy truly takes time with him to make sure he can become the most successful in her class. She goes out of her way to communicate with my husband and I to make sure he has what he needs and how she can best help him. I don't know where we would be without her and her assistants in her class. The best memory for this school year is when she asked me to send some photos of my husband and me to her so she could make a book with our photos inside to help him learn how to say Mama and Daddy since he doesn't say that yet. She went out of her way to do this for him to help him. Within two weeks, he has started saying Daddy and pointing out who we were in the book and now it is one of his favorite books at school to look at. Outstanding teachers truly make the difference - especially in the world of special needs parenting - and Mrs. Mindy has made a tremendous difference in our son's life. We are seeing great strides in his progress and I am so thankful for her as his teacher. Thank you.
