NASHVILLE, TN – An elderly pedestrian was struck and killed in East Nashville early this morning.
News 4 Nashville reports that Robert L. Woods, 73, was walking along Dickerson Pike when he tripped and fell into the roadway near its intersection with Queen Avenue. The driver of a Hyundai Elantra was unable to stop in time, and collided with the elderly pedestrian.
Emergency responders took Woods to Skyline Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with police, who said there were no signs of impairment.
Investigations are ongoing.
