Crash alert: Police identify pedestrian killed in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, TN – Police are investigating the death of a 77-year-old pedestrian who was fatally struck in Clarksville last week. WSMV reports the victim has been identified as Lilburn L. Evitts of Clarksille.

This is an update to a previous story.

The incident happened late Thursday night near Providence Boulevard and Plum Street.  Police say they are searching for a 4-door car with damage to the front headlight area on the passenger side.

Authorities had released a photo of a person of interest wanted in connection with the case, but said that person has now been cleared and released after being interviewed on Friday night.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Clarksville police.
