NASHVILLE, TN – According to WKRN, Nashville metro police say a 26-year-old woman is dead following a pedestrian accident in Madison on Wednesday night.
Officers arrived at the scene, the intersection of North Graycroft Avenue and Nesbitt Lane, at about 10 p.m.
They say Danielle Decesare was walking eastbound along Nesbitt Lane when she went into the roadway near the intersection with North Graycroft Avenue and was hit by a passenger car. The driver was heading southbound on North Graycroft Avenue with a passenger and told authorities he could not see the pedestrian before impact.
Decesare passed away from injuries sustained in the collision. According to officials, she lived close to the scene of accident.
Police noted there are not any traffic controls or a crosswalk at the North Graycroft Avenue and Nesbitt Lane intersection.
The driver did not display signs of intoxication and detectives are still investigating the circumstances of the collision.
