NASHVILLE, TN – Police say a 30-year-old man has passed away from his injuries following a pedestrian accident on West End Avenue last Sunday, reports WKRN.
According to authorities, the collision occurred around 7:30 p.m. Sunday on West End Avenue near the Murphy Road intersection. Andrew Miller, a resident of a nearby apartment building, was crossing the roadway away from a crosswalk when he was struck by an eastbound 2006 Honda Civic traveling in the far left lane.
After the accident, the driver spoke with investigators and said she could not see the pedestrian until right before impact. She attempted to avoid hitting him by swerving right but did not have enough time.
Miller was critically injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. On Friday, Metro Police provided an update that he had passed away from his injuries.
Investigators say the roadway had ample lighting at the time of the collision and they are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
