NASHVILLE, TN – A teenage worker was killed in an accident at an East Nashville construction site Tuesday afternoon, according to a report by WATE.
The incident happened at 315 Interstate Drive at the job site for a new hotel, the La Quinta Inn. 16-year-old Gustavo Enrique Ramirez was on scaffolding when he fell 120 feet to the ground, according to Metro police. Ramirez’s 18-year-old brother who was with him on the scaffolding turned around after hearing a noise and witnessed the fatal fall, police said.
Authorities classified the case as an accident. Detectives looking into Ramirez’s death said that they did not see a safety harness on him.
Gustavo Enrique Ramirez worked part-time for a subcontractor at the site, Cortez Plastering, police said.
