Crash alert: Antioch woman killed when car goes off I-24 and hits tree

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN – A driver was killed when her car went off a highway in Rutherford County and crashed Monday afternoon. According to WSMV, the accident happened at about 2 p.m. on Interstate 24 West between mile markers 71 and 72.

The victim was identified as 21-year-old Andreana Vega of Antioch. The Tennessee Highway Patrol said she was driving west in a Hyundai Elantra when the vehicle went off the right shoulder of the road and hit a tree.

I-24 West in the area was shut down following the accident.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the fatal wreck. Troopers said Vega was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

Crash alert: Fatal accident on I-24 in Cheatham County

PLEASANT VIEW, TN – An accident on Interstate 24 in Cheatham County Thursday night left one person dead, WKRN reported.

The crash involved a single vehicle and happened just before 7:45 p.m. on I-24 westbound near mile marker 30.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the driver went down an embankment. The victim’s identity was not released. The left lane was blocked as a result of the crash.

Fatal crash shuts down I-24 for hours during Monday morning rush hour

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN. – Authorities have reopened parts of I-24 that were shut down this morning following a fatal crash.

According to News 4 Nashville, the crash occurred at around 6:00 a.m. near State Route 840 and I-24 west. Police rerouted westbound traffic until 9:15 a.m. as investigators worked at the scene.
