1 worker dead following construction accident in Franklin

WILLIAMSON CO., TN – A young worker at a new storage facility construction site in Franklin died Friday morning following a construction accident, reports WKRN.

Fire Department officials said the accident occurred while concrete was being poured for the building’s foundation. According to Jose Periut of the Franklin Fire Department, the victim was some 15 feet down the foundation walls when the incident occurred.

He was declared deceased at the scene.

The construction site is located on Hospitality Drive off of Highway 96. The Tennessee Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the county medical examiner both responded to the scene, and an investigation of the death is ongoing.

The victim’s identity has not been made public, as officials wait for the victim’s family to be notified.
