Smyrna SUV accident

Crash Alert: Rollover crash reported near Smyrna bait shop

by Ponce Law | September 1st, 2020

SMYRNA, TN – Smyrna Police responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash on New Nashville Highway Friday night. At least one person appears to have been injured.

WGNS reports that a Cadillac SUV rolled over on the highways median near Big Charlie’s Bait Shop, located at 6516 South Lowry Street. Wet roads caused by Hurricane Laura may have caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

A clerk on duty at the bait shop said that customers had mentioned the crash, although he had not witnessed it himself. Further investigations were ongoing as of that evening.

While rollover accidents are often presumed to be the motorist’s fault, this is not always the case. Unsafe road designs, poorly maintained surfaces, manufacturing defects, and other external factors may be the ultimate cause of a single-vehicle crash. If you have been involved in such an incident and you believe someone else’s negligence may be at fault, the Nashville car accident attorneys at Ponce Law would like to hear from you.
