Crash alert: Driver seriously hurt when car slams into tree in Smith County

SMITH COUNTY, TN – The Smith County Rescue Squad reported that it responded to the scene of a crash Tuesday morning that left a driver pinned inside their vehicle.

The squad’s Facebook page said that the person went off the road and crashed into a tree at 240 Cookeville Highway at about 9 a.m.

Rescuers were able to extricate the driver by removing the door and using a dash lift to remove him. He was seriously injured and was transported from the scene by paramedics.
