Crash alert: Overturned tractor-trailer shuts down I-24 east

NASHVILLE, TN – A stretch of Interstate 24 in Nashville was closed for hours Thursday morning after an accident involving a tractor-trailer, WSMV reported.

The vehicle overturned shortly before 7:30 a.m. on I-24 eastbound at Exit 50 B. Officials said the tractor-trailer was hauling a forklift when it flipped over.

Traffic was impacted for both eastbound and westbound drivers with right lanes and an off-ramp blocked. It took until noon for the highway to be reopened.

A portion of road damaged by the incident was repaired by maintenance crews.

Tractor-trailer overturns on I-24 in Davidson County

DAVIDSON COUNTY, T.N. – A tractor-trailer became overturned on I-24 in Davidson County on the morning of Wednesday, June 10, according to SmartWay Traffic.

The crash occurred at Mile Marker 55 on the freeway at 11:46 a.m. The website reports that westbound traffic has been affected with right lanes blocked while eastbound traffic has experienced rubbernecking delays.

The scene is expected to be cleared by 4:30 p.m.
