SEVIERVILLE, TN – Authorities have released new details on a crash involving five vehicles on Interstate 40 in Sevierville Saturday, according to WBIR.

This is an update to a previous story.

Police said 40-year-old Darryl Kerr of Georgia was driving a Jeep Wrangler at about 6:40 p.m. on I-40 west near the 407 exit when he crossed a median and went into the eastbound lanes, leading to the multi-vehicle wreck.

The driver of a Subaru Forrester was killed in the crash and was identified as 55-year-old Bettina Koelzer of Marian, Iowa. Two people from Missouri who were passengers in a Ford Explorer were injured.

Police are trying to determine the cause of the accident, which closed a portion of I-40 for more than five hours.

Crash alert: Victim identified in fatal I-40 accident

PUTNAM COUNTY, TN – Authorities have released the identity of a person killed in a crash in Putnam County early Friday morning, 1057 News reported.

This is an update to a previous story.

Officials say the victim, 31-year-old Viram B. Dangar of Jersey City, New Jersey, was driving a Kia Sorento that struck a guardrail just after 3 a.m. while heading west on Interstate 40.  The vehicle went across the median and into the eastbound lanes, where it slammed into a Mack tractor-trailer.

Dangar was killed and a passenger in his vehicle was injured.  The driver of the tractor-trailer, 41-year-old Tommy Ray Moser, Jr. of Jonesville, North Carolina, was not hurt.

UPDATE: Two drivers killed in collision on I-40 identified

NASHVILLE, T.N. – The two drivers killed in the three-vehicle collision on I-40 last Thursday have been identified, according to WGNS News Radio.

Authorities say 22-year-old Megan Osborne was driving her 2012 Toyota Corolla on I-40 when she lost control of her vehicle and crossed over the road’s median. She then struck a Jeep Patriot driven by 29-year-old Jared Walker. Osborne also crashed into a Kia Forte driven by Tracy Polk Jr.

Osborne and Walker were killed upon impact. Polk suffered minor injuries.
